Cancellation Policy
Palazzo Poggi operates a Moderate cancellation policy, consistent with Airbnb standards.
The security deposit (€500) is always fully released in case of guest cancellation. In case of cancellation by the host, guests receive a full refund plus an additional 10% compensation.
Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit of €500 is required for all bookings paid by credit or debit card. This deposit is pre-authorised (held) on your card at the time of booking — no money is charged.
- ✓ The hold appears on your statement but is not charged
- ✓ The deposit is automatically released 7 days after checkout
- ✓ You will receive an email confirmation when released
- ✓ The host has 7 days post-checkout to file a damage claim with photographic evidence and receipts
- ✓ Disputes may be escalated to the Italian Giudice di Pace (civil magistrate court) — no lawyer required for amounts under €5,000
Legal basis: caparra confirmatoria under Italian Codice Civile art. 1385. By completing the booking, the guest acknowledges the property's condition at check-in and accepts liability for any damages caused during their stay.

Florence City Tourist Tax
The City of Florence (Comune di Firenze) imposes a tourist tax (tassa di soggiorno) of €6 per person per night, applicable for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights per stay.
Exemptions (fully exempt, no tax applies):
- ✓ Children under 12 years of age
- ✓ Persons with certified severe disability (L.104/92, art. 3 comma 3) + 1 companion
- ✓ Companions of hospitalised patients (up to 2 per patient, day hospital included)
- ✓ Workers on business travel for stays exceeding 7 days (even non-consecutive) in the same calendar year
The tourist tax is calculated automatically during booking based on the number of taxable guests and nights. Guests claiming exemptions must present supporting documentation at check-in.
Privacy Policy
Personal data provided during booking (name, email, phone number) is collected for the sole purpose of managing your reservation and communicating with you about your stay. We do not sell or share your data with third parties, except as required to process payments (Stripe, Inc.) or comply with Italian law. Your data is stored securely in the European Union. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data by contacting info@palazzopoggi.com. This processing is based on contractual necessity (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
Governing Law
This rental agreement is governed by Italian law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Florence, Italy. For amounts under €5,000, disputes may be brought before the Giudice di Pace di Firenze. The host is a private individual operating under the Italian short-term rental regulations (D.L. 50/2017 and subsequent regulations of the Regione Toscana and Comune di Firenze).
